Rare 1920's Antique 12 (25 cm) Velvet and Leather English/German Teddy Bear/Bär

  

Velvet and Leather English/German Teddy Bear/Bär. Exceedingly rare antique cabinet size "Velvet" Teddy Bear, possibly made in England or Germany, ca 1920's. This almost unknown but charming Teddy Bear is all made of brown velveteen, straw and saw-dust filled, disk jointed at head, shoulders and thighs with a very odd shaped tipped hump to back, big round ears, black shoe button eyes, vertically embroidered nose and stitched mouth, long slightly curved arms, thick thighs, wide hips, narrow ankles, large narrow feet, brown leather pads and three red stitched claws. All original and free of odors. According to the original owner, his had a tiny metal piece on left ear that was bitten by her dog when she was a child picture #8.

Somewhat worn, darkened and soiled all over. Left foot instep and pad have been partially stitched (picture #10 and #1,) small black stain to back of right thigh picture #4. Otherwise, very good overall condition.
